Howdy all.
I just wanted to recommend a website to
you, classicflix.com,
which is great if you live in the US and want to rent movies (they have an excellent
selection of Westerns, even some quite rare ones) but even if you don’t live in
the US you’ll find the site interesting because of the articles posted on a
huge variety of cinematic matters.
They tend to concentrate on pre-1960 movies, though they do have quite a few after that date. For Westernistas like us, the 1950s were anyway the high water mark of our noble genre.

I have recently been invited to
contribute on Westerns and my first effort was a brief discussion of how
American Indians (or Native Americans if you prefer that term) have been
treated by Hollywood. You can read it here
if you want.
Next month there’ll be an article on the
Westerns of Robert Mitchum.
But don’t worry, I’ll still be posting
every two or three days on Jeff Arnold’s West!
So long, e-pards.
Jeff
